What does being a REALTOR entail?

Simply stated, it boils down to working with Sellers in promoting and marketing their properties and working with Buyers to assist them in the purchase of a property that meets their wants and needs.

A high energy level, good communication skills, and an ability to overcome challenges along the way are important attributes that contribute to success.
What is the J.S. Walker Training Process? We train all of our new associates in order to make them efficient and effective from Day 1. Our training is handled personally by Steve Walker, Owner/Broker.

The training includes workbook, video, and role-play in the classroom so that the agent is confident and knowledgeable when speaking face-to-face with clients. The training typically takes 2 ½ to 3 months and can be done in conjunction with study to take the WV State Licensing Real Estate Exam or, if the agent already has a license, concurrent with the agent’s daily real estate business. Classes are typically two-three times per week lasting approximately two hours each and are subject to agreement among the parties in the class as to specific days and times.

Do I need a Real Estate License to be considered as a prospective REALTOR-Associate?

No, you do not need a license to make an inquiry to engage in a discussion about the real estate business or to begin taking training. Typically, new REALTOR-Associate candidates will both study for the WV State Real Estate Exam AND engage in our training program concurrently so that upon passing the state exam and completing the J.S. Walker training program the new associate is prepared to be fully engaged in the real estate business.
